You can lose your orcs in singleplayer with this multiplayer feature afaik, maybe I'm wrong. So, if you don't want to buy the game, DON'T BUY IT, and definitely don't complain about it to other players which only annoys people. If they want to commit a crime, then they can risk it and face the consequences (as rare as the consequences are). Also your argument about pirating the game is stupid.
I don't think it will have much of an effect. I'm pretty sure you aren't losing anything if you lose a fortress, just go down on the leaderboard. What makes it worse is that I've heard it's like FOB bases in MGS V: The Phantom Pain, which would mean that being attacked by other players and losing your resources isn't optional. If you want to complain, email the publisher or developers. If you don't like them, don't buy them, don't buy the game, but PLEASE do not whine about it on every YouTube video related to Middle-earth: Shadow of War and every Steam thread. Honestly I was very pissed at first but what makes me more pissed are the whiny kids complaining everywhere. Who cares about multiplayer anyways?
